It's been of St. Moritz's top eateries for more than 20-years with the pedigree of a Michelin star kitchen that's now under the watchful eyes of Martin Dalsass. This family owned eatery is located in an ornamental chalet that looks equal parts sexy ski villa and edible Gingerbread palace. During summer the facade of the building erupts with an outdoor patio that a popular "treffpunkt" or gathering point for area hikers of the late-40 and 50-something sort. In winter, the scene shifts indoors to the two-story dining room surrounded in pristine blonde millwork from 1658 with ornate chandeliers under rafter ceilings. Crisp Tabletops lined in white linen with ornamental chairs support a top-notch clientele of showy diners and celebrity vacationers.

The Food

Ala carte lunches and dinners include prix-fixe digestion menu that is best enjoyed by foreign visitors who have a hard time translating or even understanding the foodie-minded English menu. Expect appetizers of mussels and salmon on artistically presented plates followed by terrine of foie gras with unexpected chocolate medallion. Seafood dishes like shrimp scampi on white risotto or creamy fettuccine are topped with fresh white or black truffles depending on season. Main course can include a savory chicken breast in a velvety mushroom sauce with more foie gras or medallion or beef or lamb in a rich vegetable ragout and pickled cabbage that will likely register with some as the best meal ever experienced.
